From Roots to Tops

We visited the Nursery Van Heden and toured around a tree´s life, from a seed in the greenhouse to an enormous specimen in the field

“I was surprised because I thought that we were going to a little farm and it was giant with a lot of trees” Santos Barbero

We then learnt two plant propagation techniques, by seed and cuttings, and put them into practice!

“What surprised the most was the amount of things they have to do for just one plant and that everything is made by hand” Laura Salemme

“I loved this workshop. I learnt a lot about plants and the different types of cultivation that I didn’t know of. We came with a small group and it was very good because we all worked a lot. I loved the place; it was very big”. Victoria Capiel

We also worked on transplanting and replanting some specimens for further growth.

“What most surprised me was that I thought the place was going to be small, but it was very big. The most interesting thing I learnt was how plants grow and are changed of place” Vicky Van Avermaete

I thought that it was going to be boring, but I had the best time. It was really fun!! Lola Gulminelli

We finally drove to the field and learnt about a third propagation technique called grafting.

“I learnt how to graft and that was very interesting" Lucia Mussi Goñi
